Distance from Mount Kisco, NY to NYC: 45 Miles Mount Kisco(often spelled Mt. Kisco) is a village and a town in Westchester County. The village of Mt. Kisco lies partly in the town of Bedford and partly in the town of New Castle. The Mount Kisco Train Station is located on the Harlem Division of the Metro North Railroad. It's about 55 minutes to Grand Central Station in midtown Manhattan. History The village of Mount Kisco was incorporated in 1875 and was partly in the towns of Bedford and New Castle. In 1978, the village chose to become a town in its own right and joins several villages in the state that have made a like choice. The Town of Mount Kisco is coterminous with the village.
In April 2007, Mount Kisco was named the best family town in Westchester by InTown Magazine. InTown Magazine wrote that "while the town earns points for making the glamorous life so convenient, it’s the down-to-earth vibe that launched this woodsy hamlet to the top".
Schools and Educational Facilaties The Bedford Central School District serves the village of Mount Kisco. Schools in the district that Mount Kisco students attend are either Mount Kisco Elementary or West Patent Elementary, depending on geographical boundaries. All students attend Fox Lane Middle School and Fox Lane High School.
